I traveled to Norway not long ago as I have told you in the forum and the truth is that it is a spectacular country about which I will tell you things, from my humble experience, which I hope you will complement.
I did the trip by boat, which was perhaps the only bad choice that I think I made.
The first place we stopped was in a beautiful town called Alesund, which I recommend, because its architecture is one of the most unique. Most of the houses are not too high houses that are a bit reminiscent of those in Amsterdam, although inside they are more comfortable. They follow the typical Nordic art nouveau or Jugendstil style, with very colorful facades (especially red, yellow and blue, pastels)
The city museum is located on a hill that is worth climbing, not because the museum is a must-see, but because of the views it offers. It also has a couple of historic cannons from an important city battle that make it very picturesque.
They also have a very famous aquarium and people in general understand English and speak it better than almost an Anglo-Saxon, so it is easy to make you understand. I personally loved a very cosmpolita little cafe near the port. If I remember the name I will put it here.
Perfect to go for a walk and the small port and surrounding the whole town is a whim
